0:07.0	Today we approach the end of David's life, so we're beginning to take a look back at all the many ways God has worked in his life through all the ups and downs.
0:21.0	David's doing this too in song form. His song in chapter 22
0:25.1	bears a lot of similarity to Psalm 18 which we read on day 109, so here's a
0:29.9	reminder of what we talked about on that day. This song is a testament to the goodness
0:34.4	of God through all of David's trials. He makes a lot of claims about his
0:38.2	righteousness here, but if we look closely, we see that he describes his
0:41.7	righteousness as being a gift from God. It is God who makes
0:45.9	his way blameless. He continues to point to God as the source of all these good things.
0:51.2	God is the one who equips him, delivers him, and protects him. David
0:54.2	recognizes that this all starts with God. He is the source of all the good things we
0:58.8	have and offer back to him. The heading of chapter 23 in my Bible says the last words of David, but don't worry,
1:06.7	there's still more of David yet to come in this book as well as in a couple other books.
1:10.3	He's not dead yet.
1:12.4	David begins by identifying himself humbly as the son of Jesse,
1:16.0	and then he identifies the ways that God has exalted the lowly
1:20.0	by raising him up and anointing him.
1:22.0	Not only that, but God speaks to him and
1:25.2	through him, and he serves as a prophet to Israel, not just a king. God is like
1:30.8	sunlight and rain bringing life and light to David as he rules by the fear of God.
1:36.7	In stark contrast to Saul, who ruled by the fear of man.
1:41.6	God made a covenant with David and he continues to deal with David according to that covenant.
