0:13.2	One of the things you may notice as we drop into chronicles from time to time is that things

0:39.4	We open today with David making plans to move the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem, the newly

0:47.7	You may recall from back in 1 Samuel 4 that the Philistines stole the Ark in a battle,
0:52.6	and when Eli the priest heard the news, he fell over and died.
0:56.8	God plagued the Philistines as long as they had the Ark, so they decided to get rid of
1:00.8	it by sending it away on milk cows.
1:03.6	According to 1 Samuel 6, the cows went first to the Israelites in Bethchemesh, but they
1:08.9	mistreated the Ark and several of them died.
1:11.8	So they sent it to the home of a man named Abinadab in Kerieth Jaram.
1:15.7	It remained there as long as Saul was king, probably because Saul didn't understand its
1:20.6	value to the people of Israel.
1:22.7	It was considered the earthly throne of God after all.
1:26.8	David does see its value, though.
