| 0:00.0 | Hey Bible readers, I'm Tara Lee Cobble and I'm your host for the Bible Recap. |
| 0:07.0 | Apart from the Psalm, it's been a while since we've checked in on David and his |
| 0:16.4 | storyline. The last time we saw him was 10 days ago on day 111. Let's do a quick |
| 0:21.5 | refresher of where we are in the story before we jump into today's |
| 0:24.4 | recap. Before today's reading, David has been king of the tribe of Judah for about |
| 0:29.3 | seven years. The other tribes have been following Saul's son Isbosbosheth, but then two of Ischboshe's military leaders murdered him. |

| 1:18.0 | all three chapters at once. |
| 1:20.0 | Finally, David is anointed king over the other tribes, unifying the nation of Israel. |
| 1:26.0 | David was 30 years old at this point, which means he had to wait roughly 15 years between the time |
| 1:30.9 | Samuel anointed him as king over Israel and the time he actually |
| 1:34.1 | became king over Israel. Up until this point had been raining in Hebron, which was |
| 1:38.6 | the religious capital at the time. But he's got his heart set on moving the capital to Jerusalem. |
| 1:44.0 | There's only one problem. The Jebuisites live there. |
