Hey Bible readers, I'm Tara Lee Cobble, and I'm your host for the Bible Recap.

0:12.7

We covered seven Psalms today. One of my favorite parts about Psalm 43 is how David preaches the gospel to himself. He's struggling and he feels far from God,

0:22.5

but he speaks reminders of the truth to his own soul in verse 5. Why are you downcast,

0:27.8

O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise him,

0:34.2

my salvation and my God. David tells his heart and mind what to do. This is exactly

0:40.9

the kind of thing Moses told the Israelites to do in tough times, to remember who God is and what he

Remember back when Moses warned the Israelites against three kinds of sinful thinking?

1:16.7

One was fearful thought, and two were prideful thoughts.

1:20.6

In Deuteronomy 8, Moses addressed the second kind of prideful thought by saying,

1:25.4

Beware, lest you say in your heart,

1:30.2

my power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.

1:32.3

You shall remember the Lord your God,

1:34.4

for it is he who gives you power to get wealth,

1:39.0

that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers as it is this day.

1:44.1

Again, the writers are doing exactly what Moses encouraged them to do. They're walking in humility,

1:45.9

and it leads them to praise God. But right now, the sons of Cora are confused, because God doesn't

1:51.6

seem to currently be granting the kind of victory he did in the past. From their vantage point,
