Well, today we are coming to the end of the saga of Saul. And finishing up the book of

1st Samuel, we'll also be reading one of David's victory Psalms. we love you. We thank you for this day. We thank you for the breath in our lungs. We thank you for another chance at life, God. We know that because we woke up this morning, we still got purpose in our lives. And so we just seek after you to be able to find out what those steps are to be able to walk in that. Thank you, Lord, for calling us. Thank you for

electing us. Thank you, Lord, for saving us from the sin that we once lived in. We are so grateful

that we have eternal life because of what you have done for us, Jesus. I pray that we never

lose sight of the magnitude of what you have done in the way that you love us. Help us never to forget

the amount of grace

that has been bestowed upon our lives. And I just pray, Lord, that we will be able to share that

with others as well, to show that to others. Forgive us of our sins, Lord, where we have fallen short,

where we have crossed over the line, where we have just simply not obeyed you. I pray that you

will make it known to us if we are unaware of it.

Help us also to release others, to forgive others, to break ourselves free from the shackles that

we may be holding ourselves by. Please don't lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Keep the evil one from us, Lord, and we just pray that your armies will surround us for that divine protection

today. We love you so much. Thank you for this time together as a family. Please meet every need, hear every cry, and let them know, Lord, that you're with them today. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen. This was a fairly long reading. If I'm being honest, when I started reading today, I was like, oh boy, I don't know if I'm going to get through this.

Anybody else feel that way sometimes

when you look at the length of the reading,

you're like, oh boy, I don't know if I'm going to get through this. Anybody else feel that way? Sometimes when you look at the length of the reading, you're like, oh, Jesus, please help me be able to comprehend all of this. It's not that I got irritated that it was long. I was just worried. Starting off here in chapter 28, and when we left off, David had fled to Philistine territory, if you remember, because he was fleeing from Saul.

So this was the area where he thought that maybe Saul wouldn't be able to find him or wouldn't

be looking for him anyway. So in those days, the Philistines gathered their forces for war to

fight against Israel. And Akish said to David, so Akish is the king in this region,
