0:00.0	Hey Bible readers, I'm Tara Lee Cobble and I'm your host for the Bible Recap. Yesterday closed with a plague and today opened with God talking to Moses and
0:17.2	Eliezer, the new high priest now that his father Aaron has died. God tells them to
0:21.8	take a census. Why do we need another one of these? Because it's
0:26.3	been 38 years since the last census and there have been a lot of new deaths and a lot of
0:30.4	new births in the meantime. They needed the updated numbers since they were about to enter
0:34.8	the Promised Land, and the leaders also verified that there were no people remaining from the
0:39.3	first census other than Caleb and Joshua and their families.
0:43.0	If you remember from Numbers 14,
0:45.0	that was one of the prerequisites for entering the Promised Land.
0:48.0	All the old generation had to die off.
0:50.0	At the end of the census, they confirm this.
0:54.0	God tells Moses and Eliezer how to divide the land he's giving them,
0:58.0	and he says to give larger plots of land to larger tribes
1:00.0	and smaller plots of land to smaller tribes.
1:02.0	And again, he reiterates that the Levites will be tribes and smaller plots of land to smaller tribes.
1:02.9	And again, he reiterates that the Levites will be given no inheritance of the land
1:07.3	because God himself was their inheritance.
1:11.0	In Chapter 27, we hit a unique situation.
1:14.0	Zilofahad had no sons to give his inheritance to before he died,
1:18.0	so his five daughters approached Moses and Eleaser for consideration.
1:22.0	But before they approached them, they had to... Moses and Eliezer for consideration.
1:22.8	But before they approached them, they had to argue their case to four other judges first.
