0:07.0	Leviticus is a book about a perfect holy God who wants to draw near to his people
0:17.4	who are unfortunately completely depraved and sinful. It walks us through the
0:22.0	very messy and detailed process of how that can be possible.
0:26.4	There are a lot of components involved, so set your mind to press through on the days when
0:30.0	it's not easy.
0:31.0	You'll be grateful you did. Just like you tell your kids when you take them to
0:34.1	piano and swim lessons. Those things are good, but your kids ability to see that it's good just
0:39.4	hasn't developed yet. So put on your swim cap, here we go.
0:43.0	First things first, who are the Levites?
0:46.0	They're the descendants of Levi,
0:48.0	one of the 12 tribes of Israel slash sons of Jacob,
0:52.0	and just yesterday we saw that God appointed this
0:54.6	particular tribe or line to be the priests in the tabernacle so we'll be
0:58.8	dealing with a lot of things pertaining to priests they are the mediators between the holy God and the sinful
1:04.2	people. God is going to show them what steps are necessary to make this
1:07.9	relationship functional. There are three primary ways of being that are laid out in this book.
1:13.8	Unclean, clean, and holy.
1:16.5	In general, the people are unclean.
1:19.0	Always God is holy.
1:21.2	And the purpose of these rituals and law set out in this book is to get the people from the state of being unclean to the state of being clean or even holy.
1:28.0	There are various ways this has to be approached.
