0:07.0	Yesterday, Isaac and Rebecca had twin sons and God made an unusual promise to bless the
0:18.8	younger one, Jacob, instead of the older one, he saw. We saw God's plan unfolding when older brother Esau
0:26.0	sold Jacob the rights to his inheritance in exchange for lentils stew.
0:31.0	And today we'll take a few more steps in that direction when the sins of both
0:35.0	Rebecca and Isaac also play a role in this. Rebecca tricks her husband into giving
0:40.9	his blessing to her favorite son Jacob and in his heart
0:44.4	Isaac goes against the words of God by intending to bestow his blessing on the child
0:49.2	God had not chosen for it. Both parents sins were warring against each other. Though it's worth
0:55.6	noting that we can't be 100% sure Rebecca had communicated God's words to
0:59.6	Isaac. Jacob isn't sinless here either. Not only that, but in the course of receiving his blessing, he refers to
1:07.0	Yaway as Isaac's God, but not his own. By the way, a blessing is different than an inheritance.
1:14.3	It carries a lot more of a spiritual significance than just a financial one.
1:18.4	It's a very big deal, and once it's given, it's irrevocable.
1:24.0	When Isaac was accidentally giving the blessing to Jacob instead of Esau,
1:28.0	he uses some of the very same phrases and ideas that God did in 2523.
1:33.6	Isaac said,
1:35.0	Be Lord over your brothers and may your mother's sons bow down to you.
1:39.3	Decades earlier, God had said,
1:42.1	The older shall serve the younger.
1:45.0	Esau, of course, hates this, and he hates Jacob.
1:48.0	But before you feel too sorry for Esau,
