0:13.2	We continued to read Job's story today.
0:15.9	He's just lost everything except his life and today he had to listen to bad advice from
0:19.9	the second of his three friends.
0:21.8	Yesterday we heard from Elifaz, today we heard from Bill Dad.
0:25.4	But first, we heard Job's response to Elifaz.
0:29.0	He defends himself.
0:30.5	He's despairing but he doesn't curse God.
0:33.4	He knows this pain isn't the result of sinful actions he knows his friends were wrong.
0:38.7	One of the questions counselors train you to ask yourself in relational difficulty is,
0:43.2	where's my sin in this situation?
0:45.2	What can I own from this situation?
0:47.6	And that's an important question to ask, especially because we're often blind to our own sin
0:52.0	and what we've contributed to the scenario.
0:54.4	But there are times when life is just hard or when you've just been sinned against and
0:59.6	your troubles are not the result of something you contributed.
1:02.8	We would never tell someone who's been raped or physically abused to think about what
1:06.8	they did to deserve that or cause that.
1:09.2	It's not always true that our circumstances and our problems are the result of our choices.
1:15.2	Sometimes they're the result of a fallen world.
1:18.1	Sometimes they're the result of other people's sinful choices.
1:22.6	Much like with Eli Faz, Bill Dad gave bad counsel.
