Like Wednesday here in New York City beautiful day a couple days removed from game one of the

2024 world series the Yankees against the Dodgers that is still surreal to hear and by by the way, speaking of surreal,

and this certainly hit my father-in-law and my family very hard

because when you grow up in Mexico

and you come here to the United States of America, there is one athlete who is a

God to you. There is one athlete who's a legend to you. And I've heard the

stories and the passion and the voice of anyone from Mexico when they talk

about the great Fernando Valenzuela.

And I was lucky enough to see him pitch a couple of times, end of his career, granted,

but I saw him pitch I've heard the

stories and unfortunately today he passed away way too young at the age of 63 and so

there's a lot of irony in it because Fernando mania was 1981 and that of course is the last time the Yankees and the Dodgers played in the world series

Right but man sad sad news and condolences to the family and all the people that just

I adore him. It's way way too young. That's not I always felt like he was so much

older than me but when you hear it's only 63 years old I mean it's he's barely 15 years older to me 14 years

older than me so when I was a kid you'd see him with this what is looking up and you know

like what the hell is he looking at how does he find the plate when he throws the ball type of thing but he was special and they haven't announced what he passed from but whatever it was it was way way too soon he's a legend he really is and

uh there are there are guys and there are stories that help save baseball numerous times

you go all the way back to the black socks scandal babe babe Ruth saved baseball right over the biggest

gambling scandal that could have brought it down. In 1981 there was a horrible

baseball strike. It split the season in half and it got saved by Fernando mania we've heard about the McGuire
