Summary

This week it is David Sedaris part two - or David Sedaris redux. We loved our conversation with him and as we said last week, were we to limit the conversation to just one podcast, we’d have to cut out some of the good stuff. This week David talks about his empathy for those who come to hear him speak or who ask him to sign a book, his love for reading appearances, how he tries out new material on audiences, and how those audiences don’t seem to remember any of what he read. Listen to the end for a funny anecdote. Our bookstore this week is Arundel Books in Seattle - the store David said was his favorite ‘indie’ in the U-S. Welcome to the bookcase. I am Kate Gives-In, and I'm going to introduce this show before I introduce my co-host as Hermann's Hermit sang a great song called I'm Henry the 8th I am, and they said second verse, same as the first. So this is our second show with David Sideras. I'm really excited to be having a second show with him.

All right, co-host, take it away. I used to be Kate's father. I'm Charlie Gibson. It was a role

that I actually appreciated, and I was very proud of her. Now I've become her co-host. She sort of has

didn't want to leave out, as I said in the description of the podcast, we didn't want to leave

reading him. He is so fun to talk to. He's amazing. I mean, first of all, if you haven't read him,

I highly, highly, highly recommend his books. We talked about how amazing they were last week. I'm
