Susie Larson Live. Always honored to get to spend this time with you. In fact, I look forward to

bringing you conversations every single day that hopefully inspire you in your faith walk,

deepen your understanding of God's word, and that heightens your awareness of his very real

presence in your life. Well, if you listen to my show long enough, you know, I have a really sensitive spirit. I feel things very deeply. You know, every morning I slip out of bed. I go right to my knees. I have a picture propped up against the wall on my floor across my bedroom of an empty cross. I get on my knees and I pray for the persecuted church. You know, my hubby and I support an

organization that helps fight human trafficking, and we're very involved with the poor in Africa.

We care deeply about these things. And I always wonder, why do I have food in my cupboard while

so many don't? You know, why was I born into a nation where I was able to get education and be safe?

Why, Lord? I don't know even know still how to live in that tension. But the reality is there

are needs all around us. You know, I think about in Ezekiel, it talks about Sodom's sins.

And it's, you know, we think of Sodom and we think of sexual sin. and that was definitely there. But Ezekiel says Sodom sins were pride, gluttony, and apathy while the poor

and needy suffered outside of door. Pride, they thought more of themselves than they ought,

you know, gluttony. They consumed more than they needed. And then apathy, they shrug their

shoulders at the needs around them. So how do we do this as people

who've been so blessed? How do you live in the tension of tending to the needs? You know, I've realized

there are two extreme responses we can have, neither of which are helpful. One is we entertain

ourselves to death because it's just too painful to consider how some have to live. But the other is to have a passionate response, you know, send out a really great tweet,

but then nothing.

You know, having an emotional response to something isn't the same as doing something about it.
