Welcome on this Friday, December 28, 2018. I'm David Knight, your host. We're going to take a look at what's going on in California. We talked yesterday about the national legalization of hemp. Now, the federal government may pretend that they can't tell the difference between hemp and marijuana,

but it's a key difference. Hemp can be used for industrial purposes, for textiles, for food,

for nutrition, for paper. It can be used for health purposes. It cannot be used to get high. It absolutely has no reason to be part of the federal war on drugs,

even if you support that. And President Trump, of course, signed the law that was passed by the

House and the Senate to remove prohibitions on growing industrial hemp. You've been able to buy

hemp products that were grown in Canada,

for example, but the products, the textiles, the paper, the food products, hemp seed, things

like that, CBD oil, they were able to be sold in the United States, even though you could not

grow the hemp yourself in the United States.

And so a lot of people in areas that would like to be able to make money growing it, like in

Kentucky, wasn't just Rand Paul.

It was also Mitch McConnell.

He said, well, why are we doing this?

There's absolutely no way that you could ever get high off of him.

It doesn't have THC in it, but it does have some good things in it.

CBD, for example, is a component that is in it.

So as that is happening, we see that Facebook and banks, you know, typically it's the social media and the banks that are now the cat's paw

for prohibition, whether it's the First Amendment, the Second Amendment, or something like hemp.

So they're coming out and shutting those things down. We've seen that the banks as well as social
