We are all going to be having what I'm assuming is going to be a somber, but also somewhat celebratory discussion of David Graber,

who just died yesterday in a hospital in Italy.

And so, yeah, we're recording this on Friday, September 4th,

still reeling from the wake of his pretty sudden death. And Graber has been a

pretty important influence on the three of us and also vicariously through us and vicariously

through other members of the current affairs staff on current affairs generally. And so we thought this might be one possible way to do a nice tribute to him,

but also to explain what he means to us and what he's meant to sort of the formation of

thinking and the ethos that we're trying to put out through the magazine.

So thanks for joining me.

We'll try to keep the vibe more like an Irish wake than like a full on funeral dirge.

Yeah, well, I was thinking at the end we could end it, like we could have a like Bella

Chow singing us out or something and then that's like a good like it's both celebratory and a little sad.

I mean, the guy dies at the end.

I mean, I'm okay with that.

That feels very graberish.
