What type of Brexit does the government actually want? More than 18 months since the referendum vote to leave, it's still not entirely clear. The government has spoken a lot about what it hopes to achieve, but has given precious little detail about how this will be done. They want to leave the single market and customs union but avoid a hard border in Ireland.
