When we know why people get abortions and one of the principal reasons why they get abortions

When I look at the political sphere at the moment, it's very easy to be pessimistic.

In the United States, there is a very real chance that Donald Trump or one of his

accolades or imitators may get back into power in 2024 and we have seen in the last weeks and months once again just how

serious a threat to democracy that would represent. More broadly we see around the democratic world. Extramists on the

left but perhaps especially on the right continuing to have very significant popular appeal.

And so it is far too early to stop ringing the alarm bell

about the state of our democratic systems.

But to make our democracies work and to be able to sustain the great experiment of the early 21st century.
