In the 1930s, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt addressed the nation through a series of radio

broadcasts known as the Fireside Chests.

His aim was to reassure the common man that our society would recover from its troubled

times.

Well we're far from 1930 and I deal with a different kind of fire.

Sweet sweet quarantine dear people of the internet.

From sunny San Diego, I'm Greg Carlwood and I think we're all a little surprised at

just how quickly things can turn.

And like me, I think many of us were letting the coronavirus fear porn beat off of us

like water on a duck's back.

But as more states and countries issue orders of safe distancing, self quarantine and

shelter in place.

I'm starting to worry much more about the very or well-earn actions being implemented,

how quickly we fall in line without any pushback, and how often we're going to allow freedoms

to be subverted under the very worn out reasoning that this is all for our safety.

While there is no shortage of commentary or speculation when it comes to the coronavirus,

its origins or its purpose.

But some of the most interesting material I've been following suggests that we really need

to rethink our assumption that deadly contagious viruses emerge randomly throughout the human

timeline wiping out huge numbers of us in their wake.
