I'm McGaris and this is post-mortem. I was first introduced to the work of David Cronenberg

when I saw a rabbit at a theater on Hollywood Boulevard. I was so blown away by it that I went to see it the very next day on a double bill in the valley with his first feature shivers, released in the states at that time as they came from within.

To say there's no other filmmaker like him that he is a true original is to practice understatement.

I first met David when I was doing special publicity on scanners for Avco Embassy, where, among other things, I helped conceive

the trailer, did the making of documentary, and put on the world's first David Cronenberg

film festival on Hollywood Boulevard to promote the film.

Our paths have crossed many times over the years professionally and socially,

but once again it all comes down to Hollywood Boulevard.

We gathered there again to talk with a live audience and a guest appearance with the brilliant

composer Howard Shore at Beyondfest at the American Cinematech.

dead zone, as well as creating the massive soundtracks for Peter Jackson's

Lord of the Rings movies,

Silence of the Lambs, and many others.

It was a very special night and the chance to talk to David Cronenberg for an hour

is a rare and wonderful one and we will share it with you right after this.
