I'm Faith Moore, and this season we're reading David Copperfield by Charles Dickens.

Each episode I'll read a few chapters from the book,

pausing from time to time to give brief explanations, so it's easier to follow along.

So brew a pot of tea, find a cozy chair, and settle it. We're finally here. We get to start the book today. Gosh, it feels

like it's been such a long wait. I guess because we took that break for Christmas and New Year's,

and then we had the intro,

and it's just felt like, oh my gosh, can we start the book already? Well, the answer is yes. We are here

today to start the book, Chapter 1 of David Copperfield. And I cannot wait to start this with you.

I think this is going to be such a wonderful journey, a long journey, as we discussed before.

It's going to take us through almost to the end of the summer.

And so I hope you're ready.
