Hello and welcome to Bible Stories. We are your hosts Matt Mullins. Hello! Hey Matt, my name is Todd

Hamons. We're two ministers slash buds who love telling the stories of the Bible and man we got

another really great one that's pretty wild by the way and we cannot wait to share it with you. In

fact today Matt we're gonna break away from what we've been doing the last what six seven weeks

and we're gonna go old Testament style. That's right our story today comes from First Chronicles 21

and Second Samuel chapter 24 it's we're going back to one of our favorites just for a day we're

gonna talk about King David yeah and it's at some point during the King's reign but we don't

exactly know when and the Bible describes the anger of the Lord had burned against Israel and the

Bible tells us it Satan had enticed David to commit a sin. Now you think of David's life and buddy

there are probably some sins that come to mind yeah well let's popcorn some of David's failures

I'll start with murder yeah he did murder he was also a cheater unfortunately yeah he's an

adulterer might have lied some kind of a bad dad yeah bad dad very good dad bad dad yeah bad dad

you put that beef jerky down bad dad that was the specific story yeah yeah it's found in second

hesitations too much sodium well today sin is perhaps I would I would label this as a little more

settled when we just describe Satan temps David to take a census Todd has a census worker ever come

to your door knocked on the door not recently no no it's been a while mom I've never had the privilege

of this maybe you have mom at some point yeah there may have been someone who comes your door

I don't know if it's a phone call now I don't know but the government takes information from you

usually they're gonna ask some questions about stuff like I don't know how many people are in the

house ages all sorts of stuff typically it's a mailer I think we got one in 2020 was a mailer I

believe so yeah well and the idea there is you want to get to know the demographics of your country

right we want to get a solid understanding as to who is who is here well why would this be a sin
