Michael, thank you for that very professional heartfelt and decent intro. I appreciate it. I'm looking forward to hitting the road with you. This is the last appearance that I'm doing on anyone else's show until I hit the road and the book is out there. So this is it. There's a big one for me.

This is it. Well, I wanted I actually been thinking a lot about you this past weekend because you had this big announcement that you and your husband David are having two kids.

Then I was very surprised that I got to tell you a little disturbed at some of the heat you got, you know, I reached out to you to congratulate you. And you've been getting it from all angles where you, which we'll get into in a second, were you surprised to get some kind of pushback for something that to me seemed to be so wholly positive.

So first off, let me just say what I said to you on the phone and I appreciate the call. And you know, it's funny. You know, we live in this bizarre time where everyone feels they have to do everything publicly.

So I had to make this announcement publicly, which I knew I was going to do at some point because I do talk about my life on my show, just like you talk about your life.

I don't I don't like I'm really this is one of the reasons I don't because I like see what happens to people like you and I don't I hate that.

Well, but it's not that you it's not that you don't it's not that you're overtly talking about your life on a day-to-day basis. But from what I know about you like you're not going to really hide something that's very important to you something like that.

So it's not necessarily it's not that you're look at the experiences that you've had in your life and where you've gone and things and I know those are work related things.

But the point is that any of us that talk for a living to a degree you sort of you know we're not CNN talking heads where we really have no freaking idea what Brian stelter is like outside of that studio when he goes back home to the potato patch or what you know Anderson Cooper is like.

Those of us that do this thing you know I'm very much the same person that I am off camera is on person as on camera you know there's always what what's that.

What's that psychological precept you know that if the camera is on everyone turns it on like 5% there's a there's a yeah yeah yeah I don't know what the term but I mean yeah yeah there's an actual term for it.

So of course we're talking on camera right now it's basically how we would talk off camera but there's a little bit of something that's a little different anyway.

I knew that at some point I was going to end up talking about my family and I do think your your family is an important part of what frames your politics and all of those things.

The reason we made this announcement now when these kids are not even born one one will be born in August and one will be born in October was that David his friends are all having kids right now he's at that age where there's just like this explosion of babies everywhere.

And the moms and the dads are all putting up pictures or the 2B moms and 2B dads are putting up pictures everywhere and he just wanted to be part of that he doesn't really post anywhere on social media he doesn't care for social media he's a pretty functioning whole person.

You know in the first place but he was like he did want a little bit of that so that his mom could share in the joy she's going to be a first time grandma that sort of thing so I thought okay if he's going to do it well now people are going to know because I am a public person or whatever you want to call this and I should say something.

So look when we made the announcement first I would say which is exactly what I said you on the phone 99% of what we got at least that I saw was absolute love and support from all of the people that I thought I was going to get love and support from.

I don't know any one person that has any meaning to me in my life either publicly or privately that turned on me because of this.

Now yes there were 2 or 3 from what I saw blue check people one woman this Jenna Ellis person who I've done I've done her podcast I think twice but I you know she keeps calling me a friend I mean I've never met her I've never had drinks with her or dinner with her I'm not even saying she's a bad person she's entitled to her religious beliefs.

But I know she was not happy about it then there was some other troll blue check guy and then I saw just like the usual frogs on Twitter just saying things and the Catholic grouper whatever look the internet is is evil and murky you know more about this than anybody right like what goes on on the underbelly of the internet so in terms of the people that matter to me and the people that I'm associated with publicly who now are almost all conservatives.
