Matt, he's one of your favourite chairmen's ever, isn't he?

Absolutely. Absolutely.

So I treated Ken when I was at the club.

And then Dennis and Gus came in.

I knew Chelsea were sniffing.

And my contract was due to expire, I think, in June or July.

And I think it was January. And I think

it was just 2006 or 2007. Basically, they had the situation where two of the young lads had got

poached from the academy and they had to go to a compensation tribunal. Chelsea ended up paying

a couple of million, I think, for the kids because they'd been

illegally approached, right? So there was a lot of, and obviously from the years past, a lot of

animosity between Leeds and Chelsea, okay? So I was like, you know, I want to do right by Leeds

because Leeds have been done right by me and I had such an incredible time there and was

able to do lots of different things I was like I want to be out of walk back into leads at any point

in time in the future I don't want to just say screw you I'm out the door and I'm jumping ship

to Chelsea because they're you know paying me more money so I sort of said to Chelsea and the

Peter Kenyon was the chairman, it was the general manager
