David, welcome. Hey, thanks, Joy. Thanks for having me on.

Let's first, I mean, so you're an economics professor long before you were a political

representative.

So let's kind of go into your major field of economics, a lot going on there in the economy

right now.

I would love if you would just start out.

I'm getting a lot of questions from, you know, my normal, you know, friends,

my everyday friends, kind of about the tariff situation. Because I think most Americans, even if

they're intelligent, well-read, educated people who pay attention to the news, which is already

maybe 10% of the country, I think even those kinds of people are not super familiar with the tariff game,

you know, how they are used in policy, because of course the last 40 plus years, you know,

of our lives have entailed in this country offshoring, lowering the tariffs on other countries

and basically getting played by them. So could you just start here about as an econ professor,

giving our audience a

101 on the current tariff war, how we got here and how you think that's going?

Yeah, well, the federalist, I like a lot of the folks on your team and the ones I don't like,

I don't know yet. And so you guys do a good job educating people. And so
