Summary

Q: What advice do you have on dating someone who is divorced? Dating someone who is divorced is a topic that has come up more and more over the years. With the age of divorce getting younger, and the number of divorces getting higher over the years – it makes sense that dating someone who is divorced is a topic that keeps coming back around during my question and answer time. I have clients, friends, and family members who are divorced, and with that in mind, I wanted to make sure to answer this question in a way that honored the person who was asking the question – as well as respected those who have been divorced. Stance vs. Status: Dating Someone Who Is Divorced If you’ve read my blog or books, or listened to my podcast, at some point you’ve heard me say that in any relationship where there is conflict – there are always two people involved which means two people who  need to take ownership of their role in that conflict. Divorce is no exception to that rule. If we want to establish healthy relationships, we all have something to own in the process of building them. So my answer focuses a lot more on the stance of the person you’re dating, rather than their relationship status.
