Summary

I’m joined by Brianna Apple, a 23 year old Tiktoker navigating the NYC dating scene. We discuss the nuances of why she’s dating for fun and not for love right now, and how she navigates getting to know people without being misleading about her intentions. She shares why she has her heart guarded, her biggest dating pet peeves, and hilarious dating fails. We discuss red flags we give off, the best and worst parts of dating in your 20s, and more.

Hey guys, it's Alana and welcome back for another episode of Seeing Other People.

0:13.3

Wow, I can't tell you how good it feels to be able to say that and not sound like a nasally walrus.

0:19.3

I've been so sick for the past few days. And apparently there is

0:23.4

some virus cold thing going around. Not fun. Take your vitamin C. You really don't want to catch this.

I actually woke up the other day and literally I looked at the clock and it was 8.10 and I looked

0:35.8

on my phone and I was like, what time does urgent care open? It was was open at 8. I'm like, bye, Jake. I am going now. And he was like, oh boy. I was like, there's no way I don't have strep throat right now. My throat is on fire. And I went and my strep test came back negative. They did a flu test negative and a COVID test negative. And I'm like, well, what is it? And definitely the

0:55.4

1:12.9

next. And finally, finally woke up today seeing the light at the end of this very cold sniffly tunnel.

1:21.1

Watched a lot of TV this week. I have one episode left of Outer Banks. Really great third season.

1:29.4

It's so funny because part of me loves the show so much. And the other part of me is like, why do I like this? I don't really know.

1:35.7

And it's so intense. Do I really find joy in it? But then I'm like, oh my God, I'm obsessed with the show.

1:40.9

And I was like waiting, waiting and waiting for it to come out. So I don't know.

1:45.1

Watched most of that.

1:46.1

I also have one episode left from Netflix's perfect match, which for those who haven't

1:53.1

checked it out, it is basically a dating slash competition show on Netflix where they are

1:58.8

taking contestants from all of their other reality

2:02.1

shows, whether be the circle or love is blind or the mole or too hot to handle. And anyone who's

2:08.5

single basically is like ending up on the show to find their quote unquote perfect match.

2:12.9

And it's a really cool concept. And I really like how they are mixing up all of these people from
