Of course, you're the brand new boss of this organisation, but you've been in it working as a

deputy since 2014. How have you seen the evolution of this office in the time you've been working

Well, I've been in the office of the European Data Protection Supervisor already from 2014

playing the role of the Deputy European Data Protection Supervisor at Giovanni

So I had an opportunity to see the development of the office already for five years and that

I may say that this is still an evolution, starting from just two persons that were in the

office in 2004 when the office was created.

That was Peter Hastings and his deputy, Joaquin, from Spain,

who they were both elected for this post and they started to organize the office.

Through the times when I joined here when we were about 50-something people

in the EU institutions, to the times today where we are not only the supervisors of the EU

institutions, not only the advisors in the legislative process, but we also provide the Secretariat
