Fr. Mike explains that the discernment journey isn’t always about having this epiphany moment where your life’s purpose immediately becomes clear to you.

Figuring out what God’s will is for you sometimes requires a step-by-step process where you gather data, so you can come closer to the answer you’re looking for.

That’s how Fr. Mike found his vocation as a priest.

It required a lot prayer, time in adoration, talking with others, and visits to seminaries. Only once he gathered enough data to be able to “solve for x” was he certain that the priesthood was the right choice.

0:06.8	So back to discernment because it seems like there's no shortage of questions about
0:10.6	discernment and like how do I know of occasion?
0:12.2	How do I know the next step God wants me to take in?
0:14.7	How do I take that step?
0:15.7	And so I thought I'll make another video about discernment because people keep asking
0:19.2	me and I want to help for crying out loud.
0:22.3	So here's what I want to tell you a little story.
0:25.0	At some point we're going to make a video of like here's my discernment story that's
0:28.1	not right now what we're going to talk about is here's a little portion of my discernment
0:31.6	story.
0:32.6	So around 15 years old I thought, hold on story but wow does God Almighty be a priest?
0:37.6	I don't know.
0:38.8	And I wanted to know really, really badly.
0:41.5	And so what happened was I kind of went ups and downs right?
0:43.6	It wasn't like I was like thin.
0:44.9	From then on it was this trajectory of just like I went from not holy to holy or in holy
0:50.0	or everyday.
0:51.0	Nope, just ask my family.
0:52.2	They will tell you that is still a roller coaster and I'm doing my best.
0:56.1	Thank you Jesus.
0:57.1	I'll get back to our story.
