Just been around some of the talented coaches, great minds that I've been a part of growing up, you know, from Marvin Lewis to Vance Joseph, Mike Zimmer, Luano Romo, and even as recently as Kevin O'Connell and Brian Flores, they've prepared me and being around them, learned lessons, how to lead, how to structure their side of the

ball, how to implement certain learning techniques, and finding out about the culture almost

the guys have helped guide me to where I am today.

Durante Jones, the new defensive coordinator yesterday. I thought was impressive, very comfortable

for sure, and enjoyed listening to him. I thought it was interesting because, and the reason

I asked Max to come back with that soundbite is he actually referred to one of those

names that he mentioned a couple of other times during the press conference. Mike Zimmer's

name came up multiple times. Mike Zimmer was the head coach in Minnesota. Mike Zimmer was a

defensive head coach, and Mike Zimmer has been, you know,

thought of around the league for a long period of time. Remember, Zimmer was the defensive

coordinator in Cincinnati under Marvin Lewis when Jay Gruden was the offensive coordinator.

And Gruden got hired by Washington the same year Zimmer got hired in Minnesota.

But Zimmer was always one of those guys you could tell could scheme it up defensively with the best of them.

Now, he took over that Dallas team that Quinn had when he came to Washington and had a bad year in 2024 defensively with the Cowboys.

It was not, you know, it was a year that got better as the year went on, and now Zimmer's out of it.

But I thought it was interesting, you know, that Brian Flores is what we think we're getting in Durante Jones.

And I bet you, if we counted it up, he mentioned Zimmer's

name just as much during the presser. But, yeah, DJ. We have three D's. We have three D's. We have

Dan, we have Durante, and we have David as coordinators. We've got DQ, we've got D.B, and we've got D.J. And we're going to focus on D.J. right now. Durante Jones. And this was the next soundbite from the new defensive coordinator that I wanted to play. And that is, he was asked about base defense, 4-3 or 3-4? Here's what he said.

Multiple. I think 3-4-4-3, they're just numbers, still seven-man spacing. So I always say it's not how they line up, it's how they wind up. And so you can create that number system
