Oh, as it starts you meant to go on, I say.

Well, I'm a bit sniffly and a bit full of cold, I think, today.

So I don't know if I'm going to sound sexy or just slightly gruesome.

Anyway, it will not surprise our listeners to know that we'll probably be focusing largely

on one topic and various aspects of it this week.

In fact...

And it will be Vince Cable's leadership of the Liberal Democrats.

It won't be, because if it had been that, I wouldn't need to have done something which I haven't done for a while on the For the Many podcast and that is actually write notes oh my god so I have here in my notebook a short synopsis of the 585 pages no no not really because like my leader I haven't actually read the whole thing you it's very

dangerous making notes you know because this is a diary story coming up for all the diarists that

now listen to this podcast um john macdonnell came into the studio to do an hour with me on

tuesday an hour long interview which which actually I really quite enjoyed,

but we might talk about that a bit later. And afterwards, we discovered that he'd left his

briefing notes and lines to take in the studio. Oh, no. What were his people thinking about? Well, I thought

it was because we had James Brokenshire and a doctor in afterwards, and I thought

it was the doctor's notes, and the doctor had already left, so I said to my producer, go and

quickly and catch him. So she took the file out. Anyway, she comes back, she says, no, it wasn't

for the doctor, it was John McDonald's notes. I said, oh, let me have aable of her. I know. All these bloody lefty producers we have at LBC.

All she showed me was the front page with the sort of six or eight subjects that he'd got notes on.

And we actually only covered two of them in the interview.
