I'm flabbergasted.

I just, you know, the Diaz news was kind of shocking, but you know the Dodgers get whatever they want.

But we reported yesterday, Pete who lives in Tampa. He's going to drive over here and meet with the Red Sox and meet with the Orioles. He goes on and on and just kind of has that conversation. And then I don't know who this was with Ron. I recognize him. I'm not sure who it was reacting to Ron, you know, discussing this. Honestly, Ronnie, I'm actually shocked that the Mets didn't appreciate who he was and what he brought to play 162 and to show up every single night and do what he did. I was shocked that the Mets hadn't locked him up a long time. And then there's Billy Rifkin? maybe. Yeah, that's possible.

You know, I was watching a little bit, it's just, I think that's who it was.

But, you know, the thing is, is that what I'll miss most about Pete is the fact that he was available to play every game. and you know that's that's why a guy goes into a deep slump too you know like when you play 10 straight games and you get yourself caught in a slump you know and you don't want a day off

yeah you know you're going to have to fight through it. And he's done that for the most part. But I, I, we've been talking about this for two years and whether or not the Mets were going to go this long with him. And we kept saying, or at least you did, you kept reminding me how old he is. Well, in the eyes of the general managers. Yes. You know, that is the thing is they don't, for whatever reason, they looked at Pete Alonzo a certain way as a one-dimensional guy, more than Kyle Schwabber, but he ended up getting his five years from one team. You know, he did.

I don't know how many of those other offers were out there, but the Orioles were willing to give him five, and that's why he ended up going there. But I just, the long-term plans that David Stearns had of the Mets never included Pete Alon. I got to say, thanks to Rutgers, Mike, too. says as we were talking this morning we opened it up and we were were saying, I was saying it was the Great Met Reset. He said that David Stern's propaganda is out of control and then he called me a lib.

Come on. Yeah, he did. So Rutgers, Mike 2, thanks for paying attention. A lip? Look at that. I don't know what that means.

But I would say, like, again, this is why David Stearns was brought here.

I think if fans think that he's here to spend a half a billion dollars per year on the roster,

maybe we'll get to that at some point.

But I think he watched this thing for the last

two years and said, this group is not going to win the way that we want them to win.

And there's something wrong in that locker room.
