Now of course we're drawing ever closer to the finale of season 24 and on that season 24 finale

we will have a very special announcement to make. Of course our patrons will receive that announcement earlier as they get the

episodes earlier. And I'm hoping you guys will be as excited about it as I am. Or should that be

50% excited, 50% nervous? But enough teasing about the future. We're here today to discuss a dark realm.

And today's dark realm has been suggested by one of our patrons.

And the place they've suggested is an almost 200-year-old mansion deep in the English countryside.

So, without further ado, please join me as we take a step into the dark realm, that is

Woodchester Mansion, the house that never finished dying.

There are haunted houses, and then there are houses that seem to have been already born half inside the world of the dead.

Woodchester Mansion buried deep in a wooded Cotswold Valley near Nymphsfield in Gloucestershire belongs to that second kind.

Now from the outside it looks complete.

Pale limestone, steep roof lines, long ranks of mullioned windows,

gargoyle staring into the trees or at you.

But once you step inside, all of that deception collapses. You see the floors are

missing. Walls stand unplastered. Its very bones are naked where domestic comfort should have been.

This is not a house that decayed after centuries of use or family life.

It is a grand design that was simply stopped, abandoned and stowed.

And in ghost's law, unfinished things rarely sleep quietly.

Personally, what unsettles me most from looking into Woodchester

isn't the catalogue of the reported phenomena, though that catalogue is considerable.
