put Danny Murphy with us in this section we get into the formation of how his

brain works tactically his beginnings beginnings at Crewe and stretching through that

memorable spell under Roy Hodgson at Fulham again qualifying for a European final and

a man in Roy Hudson who once paid a 20,000 pound fine for Danny.

Our guest breaks down the toughest part of a TV analyst's job, something he patently takes very seriously,

something he calls translating a tactical opinion into pictures.

I think our guest is good on risk-taking and how stats only tell part of the story if you're an analyst, particularly if you're on radio and television.

His former film teammate, as Danny explains, Clint Clint Dempsey was the perfect example of how a player who was obsessed with numbers found only the most relevant ones to be useful.
