Hi welcome to I'm interested this is Mike Greenberg and I'm really excited about this day

that this is a departure for me when I first decided to do this podcast one of the things that I told the people at ESPN, and again the concept

here is that I just want to interview people I find interesting about the things that I

believe make them interesting, I said I want to do some that are not in sports and blessedly the people I work

for agreed so I wanted to do a writer I wanted to do someone from the world of news and journalism to talk about where

that's all going because that isn't really what I do on a daily basis and I want to

talk to someone in business because I know nothing about business and I spend a lot of

time around a lot of people who are in business and every idea I have in business they

always tell me is ridiculous so I wanted to talk to someone who does know something

about business

And recently I'm when I moved back to New York City after all of these years living in other places

I settled into a neighborhood where Danny Meyer restaurants tend to be and I started eating in them regularly and not only are they excellent restaurants but the concept behind them is so unique and so unusual that it I found out that he had written a book called Setting the

table and I went out and I bought that book and I read the book setting the table and that was

when I said I want to interview the legendary restaurateur Danny, who is now known really across the country

and maybe across the world because he founded Shake Shack.

And I want to do interview Danny Meyer, so it is my delight to welcome Danny Meyer as my

guest on I'm interested thank you very much for doing this I'm so happy to be

here and I'm especially happy since I failed the test of being a sports figure

which I wanted to be when I was growing up to get to be on the
