He started ugly ain't gonna stop.

Oh, she made me feel like a good God. That's when it got wheels off. Danny Clinch, rock photographer extraordinaire.

He's probably the greatest living rock photographer.

I would like for someone to convince me otherwise.

Actually, I wouldn't. I believe what I believe, and I don't know if anybody could convince me otherwise,

the sheer volume of photography that he's done in the music world over the last 30 years is staggering.

And then you factor in the scope of that, the different genres, the different

eras, the different geographical locations, the different styles. He does it all, and he does it all so well. I was lucky enough with the old 97s to work

with Danny a handful of times over the years and it's the best. He's the best. And the thoughtfulness

with which he approaches his craft and the down-to-earth nature of him

as a person and as an artist, as a craftsman, makes him pretty much the perfect guest for

Wheels Off.

I know you're going to love this interview.

I certainly loved getting to catch up with an old

friend. I will tell you there, it was one minor issue with the sound where he was on his laptop

and he had the audio alerts set up for whenever he would get a text or an email or whatever.

So throughout the interview, you'll hear, as he's getting alerts on his computer.
