Have you ever wanted to know the Hebrew language and said, I can't do that? Well, if that's the case with you, we have the man you need to talk to.

His name is Dr. Danny Ben-Gigi, and he is a native Hebrew speaker, but he's also a professor of Hebrew.

In fact, for a while you were in the Hebrew teaching program at Arizona State University.

Danny?

Right. I was the head of the Hebrew programs at Arizona State University, which gave me a wonderful

opportunity to see who is behind the table.

Because many times as teachers, especially if we end up to be writing books and so on,

we tend to forget who is sitting behind the table.

So I've seen some programs, and I think you kind of made me laugh before about telling me that

story about the teacher. What was the story?

Well, yeah, I've had a personal encounter with the Hebrew language and it's like I was told

right at the front in the first class this is going to be very difficult. You're going to find it hard to read

from right to left, and these letters are going to be difficult for you to learn. And the teacher

in the Hebrew class that I attended was Asabra, a native Israeli, and she was a wonderful woman, but she was absolutely obsessed with the fact

that I would not be able to learn Hebrew. Well, I did in spite of her, but I don't think I did

as well as I would do with you, because you took the totally opposite view. This is not going

to be difficult at all.

Well, that sounds very, maybe the formula of a non-inspirational way to study.

You can't do it. It's very difficult. Don't ever die. But you want to try it?

Okay, you're going to suffer.

Our idea is first, what I said, understanding who is sitting behind the table.

So we know it might be new, it might be something that people have not seen before.
