Was Austin Matthews the problem all along?

Oh, absolutely. They looked stronger than Boston that game

than they did all series. I don't look Marner played better. Maybe the pursuit of 70 was the mistake that Toronto was making.

Never put a 69 goal score on your team. That's really what the lesson is here.

And that's why Red Wings fans feel mostly good about their seasons. They weren't, you know,

burdened by a 69 goal score. They would never say, they would never, oh if you can't reach 70 goals, they would never put a guy who could not reach that plateau on the team. They wouldn't even bother.

Don't even bother with 40. There's no point even sniffing or having the idea in your brain.

You don't need goals in the playoffs,

you need grit and determination.

Well, I mean, Colorado won with a lot of goals.

It's through grit and determination, no skill whatsoever.

It's funny being at this point in the season

now compared to like having done it all a year

in previous years.

It's like, oh, I have so much time to catch up

on how prospects are doing, making, you

know, snarky joking remarks about, oh, if the Red Wings were in play right now, like, we didn't

use up all that content before, so I just, I feel about the the terrible jokes at this point

and it's all we have it's all we have no I there actually is quite a bit of like

we're gonna get into the prospect talk and that's really good, but good on the Eastern Conference playoff teams for just proving that they were all just as bad as the Red Wings.
