ye saints of the Lord is laid for your faith in his excellent word.

As we travel through every book on our five-year journey through the Bible,

we're going to pull over every so often to get a grand panoramic view of a fabulous section of scripture.

And that's what we're doing in this study today.

Here's Dr. J. Vernon McGee with an introduction to our study in Daniel 9.

Now, God has opened up to Daniel here in the first part of this book of Daniel, the exciting

plan of the ages as it related to the great Gentile nations of Babylon, Mediapurcia, Greco-Macedonian Empire, and finally the Roman Empire,

which was broken into ten kingdoms, that is, the legs of iron representing a divided empire,

goes down into the toes in their ten kingdoms.

Those are the nations of Europe, and I do not propose to try to identify those nations.

When I hear anyone trying to do that, I always think of the little game we played with our children when they were

babies. This little pig went to market and this little pig stayed at home and so forth.

Well, we can't, I think, identify each one of the little coes. I'm sure that certain ones are quite in evidence, but that is not

our purpose at all at this time. Now, at the same time that God revealed to Daniel this great

series of world empires, God also had promised to Israel a kingdom on this earth that extended

and covered the earth wherein both Gentile and Israel would enjoy blessings beyond the expectation of man.

A king would rule in peace and righteousness.

Now, how could the two programs run simultaneously?

Did they run parallel?

Daniel has been reading in the book of Jeremiah

and found out that the 70 years of captivity is just about up,
