Well, no doubt you've heard the expression,

Don't shoot the messenger.

And in this study, that messenger is a young prophet named Daniel

and our teacher of course is Dr. J. Vernon McGee now if you remember from last time Daniel had to tell the most

powerful person in the known world that he was headed for a disaster. How did you

like to be that messenger? Well, Nebuchanezer was going to lose his mind unless he humbled himself before God.

And this is a true story, an accurate historical account that you won't necessarily read

about in history books, but it gives us a picture of just how God is at work.

He's raising one leader up and he's removing another according to his sovereign plan.

And we also catch a glimpse of how how much God hates pride but

he gives grace to the humble. You know through the Bible's president Greg Harris

is here now and I have also seen that as we travel the world together one example is in India

where God is doing such amazing things through his word and through his

humbled servants. So isn't that true Greg?

It is and it is humbling for us to encounter people being used powerfully by God who are just so humble and of course you know that helps us strive not to get big heads about running through the Bible and we really aren't.

We often love to say to you, our beloved listening family, we're just not that smart.

God does things and we just came out of a board meeting with our wonderful board of directors and we marveled at the things that God is doing and none of us took credit. So we want to talk about speaking of humble this this home group's idea was a very humble project with very small beginnings,

and today we have over 20,000 groups, probably well over 100 or or two hundred thousand people very many of them not

Christians yeah and they are studying dr McGee in their mother tongue and
