Danica Patrick, first up, unbelievable interview.

We touched on a lot of things, but the one thing I wanted to kind of preview and talk to you about,

A-Rod was the idea of the day you retire and what does that mean for an athlete when they go into their post-retirement life world,

and the kind of the scaredness of waking up that next day and saying,

everything I was, I am no longer, right?

And you had that moment the day after you retired and you did it in mid-season,

I'd have to imagine those first couple days waking up had to be shocking to the system of your routine is now for 20 plus years is now gone.

It's scary as hell.

I'm going on my 30th anniversary, you know, this upcoming week.

And it's scary. I mean, it's like falling like from the top of the hill and you're just like, you don't know where the bottom is.

And you know, there's this famous saying that you say, athletes die twice, once when they retire and once real death.

And when I went home that first week in Dan, I was so scared and I had two or three teams call me and say, hey, we'll put you on.

We're out of the race. We'll let you hit four home runs and I probably thought about it for half a second.

And then I said, no, I'm good with the Yankees.

And then I started my life after baseball. Of course, I had thought about retirement for some crazy reason, my rookie year.

And that's when I started making early on. I started making my investments not thinking that I would play for almost 23 years,

thinking that I would play for five and a half years. That's the average.

And, you know, thank goodness that I'm having so much fun post my career, but I'm also involved very much in baseball with the SPN and with Fox.
