Hi, I'm Catherine and I'm Sheila and we're taking you through private eyes.

0:17.2

Season five started out as an idea between Catherine and I one night, maybe on surveillance,

0:24.0

maybe tracking down a witness. I asked Danielle if she wanted to join us lucky her and we started

0:30.7

talking about the different tools that we use in our investigations. Now I wanted to educate

0:38.1

the public, the victims' families on what we do. So when they have a case, they too can do it because

0:46.8

records are supposed to be transparent. Any citizen should be able to get them. If you have someone

0:54.8

who died, you should be able to get the records, talk to the police and find out what happened to

1:03.2

your loved one. There should be evidence of it. There should be a trajectory or some sort of wound

1:11.2

pattern or whatever it is. Every family deserves answers. And then we took the Danny Smith case

1:20.5

and we thought we would look at it and just give our opinion and walk people through. The case is

1:27.6

taken on an entire journey of its own because this is now as we do it investigation, there are

1:38.0

delays. There are things that we ask for that we rightfully should get. There are witnesses that

1:45.8

have come forward and there are things that need to be worked out so we can help families in the

1:53.2

future when they're in this situation. Because we're doing this investigation in real time,

2:00.1

we are waiting on certain things to come back to us. We are waiting on certain witness interviews

2:07.0

that we have already lined up. We'll come back and circle around once we have that information.

2:12.8

But investigations take time, especially when you do it thoroughly. And we just wanted to give

2:17.0

everybody an update on where it stands right now. When Sheila and I talked about doing this and we were

2:24.5

going to take on a case every episode, a different case, then we took a look at this case. When things

2:31.5

just didn't add up and we just came up with more questions, what we thought would be just answers

2:37.0

and reviewing it with our perspectives. That's when we decided we needed another episode. The second

2:42.3

one came around and we started kind of just going through it and it snowballed from there and then
