If you are easily offended, then I'm not your girl. Listening discretion is advised. Hey y'all. KJ here back for another episode of Unspeakable, what's going on? I have some shoutouts today. And look, two of them are from right here in Denham Springs, Louisiana. And that just tickles me because y'all, my people, y'all are from right I'm from. So, Miss Dana East, how are you doing, Dana? I'm so excited to see you on my roster as a supporter of the show. Thank you so very much right here from my hometown, as well as Ms. Shelby Frazier.

1:22.3

Hi, Shelby. I'm so excited to have you here on the team, if you will, and joining in and supporting this show. I literally cannot do this without the support of my patron members. So thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart. I've also got someone from all the way in Sacramento, Sacramento, California, Miss Rochelle Orlando. Hey, girl, how are you? I've never been to Cali. I've said that before. It's on my list, though. So if I'm ever out that way, I'm going to come say hey to you. But thank you so much for joining in, as well as Miss Brandy Frost from Hendersonville, North Carolina. Hey, Brandy, look, all these ladies joining in, it's like, what is it about women and true crime, y'all? We love it, don't we? We can't get enough of it. But there's one other girl that I have got to say hey, too, and she's actually not a patron member, but I have to say, hey, I taught her last year. She was a student that came all the way from Germany, and she got to stay here for a while and do an internship. And I was so excited to

2:19.7

teach her. She's back in Germany now. But Sophie, I know you're listening. You messaged me that

2:25.2

you're showing your friends all the way in Germany, which is just incredible to be. But my girl,

2:29.5

I want to say hey to you. And I'm so proud of you. And forgive my accent, but I want make sure to tell her, Ish Libidish, right? She taught me that means I love you in German. So, hey, Sophie, tell all your friends I said hey to you and that we really do know one another. This case is going to take place in Livingston, Texas. Hey, Texas. How are y'all? This one's for you, right? So it's in Livingston, Texas, which is the name of my parish, but it's the freaking wrong state, right? Livingston, Texas is actually the largest city in Polk County and is located about 46 miles south of Lufkin to kind of give you a little geographical orientation there. And in April of 1999, this was the home of 27-year-old Charles Thompson.

3:10.8

Now, Charles would be out and about on his birthday celebrating, having a really good time

3:15.2

with a night out on the town, when he would first lay his eyes on a woman named Denise

3:19.7

Hayslip. Now, Denise was a little bit older than Charles, 11 years to be exact, but from the start,

3:26.8

they agreed that sparks flew between them. And as is, you know, typically usual, whenever two

3:32.3

people are interested in each other first meet, Charles decided he was going to go approach

3:36.4

Denise, and the two of them started talking. And Charles was known as Chuck to his friends. Hey,

3:41.5

that's my daddy's name. His name is Charles. What? He goes by Chuck. Chuckie. But this Charles

3:46.5

was also known as Chuck and he would introduce himself as such to Denise. And he would say that he

3:51.8

was initially attracted to her smile and the fact that he thought she was just so carefree,

3:56.0

the way that she carried herself, right? Dancing about open, having fun and being the life of the party. He said that she was

4:03.0

always laughing. And when he said life of the party, it's not like that, you know, you're hearing,

4:08.4

she was the life of the party. But like she really was, y'all. She, um, everyone says that
