life is more fascinating than the work they produce.

That's the case with many of the criminal authors on this list, and there are several notable

cases where life imitates art, and not in a good way.

At the top of this list are murders so brutal, it's almost impossible to separate the art

from the artist.

And in one case, near the top, the art quite literally helped land the author in jail for

the rest of his life.
