| 1:25.8 | Thank you so much for your support, Ryan. Now it is time for this week's episode of Dangerous Assignment, the original air date, March 17, 1951, and the title is, Recover a hospital chart. |
| 1:55.8 | Yeah, Dangerous is my assignment. I get sent to a lot of places I can't even pronounce. They all spell the same thing, though, trouble. |
| 2:21.8 | But when I walk into the commissioners office, I don't realize this assignment is going to wind up with me playing a little kid's game of King of the Mountain. The only difference is in this game I'm playing, whoever loses gets killed. |
| 2:41.8 | Good morning, Commissioner. You said you had an assignment for me. I do see you. Well, what's the deal this time? You'll be looking for a piece of paper that's vital to us right now. Somebody steals it. What is it a secret treaty or something like that? No, it's a hospital temperature chart. |
| 2:54.8 | Oh, you know, for a minute, I thought you said just what I did say, a hospital temperature chart, and a complete set of medical records. Now, look, Commissioner, fun is fun. There's no joke, Steve. You know, I think you're a serious. You bet I am. |
| 3:06.8 | Well, in that case, you better start at the beginning. Whose medical records are they? And why are they so important? Do you see this map of Eastern Europe, this country? Yeah, what about it? |
| 3:15.8 | But sometimes it's been torn apart politically. During the last few years, a popular leader has a reason who's been able to do the one thing nobody else has before him. The United's country under a democratic formal government. |
| 3:26.8 | You're talking about Carl Zander. That's right. You have any idea what Zander is right now? Well, it seems to me I read that he was taking a vacation somewhere in the Austrian Alps. Steve Carl Zander is a patient of the Quittington clinic right here in the United States. What? |
| 3:40.8 | Yes, it's been a very closely guarded secret or rather it was up until a few days ago. Wait a minute. You said there were some medical records stolen. Were they Zander's records? Yes. How they found out Zander was in the clinic, we don't know, but they did. And hide a man to steal a record. |
| 3:54.8 | We know the man's name and we've got a description of it. But who'd want to steal medical records? Steve Carl Zander is a very sick man. The specialists at the clinic are all agreeable, but right now you'd never be able to tell that by looking at his medical records. |
| 4:09.8 | I think I'm beginning to get it, Commissioner. Isn't there an election coming up in a couple of weeks in Zander's country? |
| 4:15.8 | That's right Steve. Imagine what would happen if a highly organized minority in that country blasted copies of those medical reports all over the front page. |
| 4:23.8 | They could make it look because if Zander was dying, that would cause the defeat of Zander's party. And three years of building taught democracy would go down the drain. I see. That makes those medical records pretty hot, Commissioner. |
| 4:35.8 | Zander is asked for our cooperation, Steve. I told him we do everything we possibly can. You say you know who slapped the records from the clinic. Yes, the man named DuVac, he poses a grossly truck driver to get admitted to the clinic. Any idea where DuVac is now? |
| 4:48.8 | I don't think he's on a ship named the Southern Empress on route to the Portuguese colony of Macau on a China coast. |
| 4:53.8 | Sort of taken around about way, isn't it? Yes, and we think it's to cover his tracks. Well, can't you radio the skipper of the ship? No. This thing has to be kept absolutely quiet, Steve. |
| 5:03.8 | So I'm elected to fly over to Macau and meet the boat. Yes, and your plane leaves in one hour. You'll just barely make it to Macau before the boat loads. Any contacts over there who can help me? One. |
