many of you will remember Dan Patrick as the crazy sports guy on local Houston television

Remember him going to run Joel O'Stein's television station. You remember before that that he owned what was

KPRC at the time that long before Clear Channel would buy it brought Rush Limbaugh to Houston, something that

will be, it's on anybody's all-time highlight reel, he went on to buy KSCV Radio 700 AM, which he was the star of for many years.

He ran for state senate and won. He ran statewide to lead the Senate as

Lieutenant Governor where he is today and he's our guest Dan Patrick.

Good morning Captain. I love it. Let's start with the fact that for this will be the third election

presidential election that Donald Trump has run for president and it is the third time that you are the

chairman of his statewide campaign the last poll I saw had him up 80 to 9 over

Nicky Haley. Why is that?

Because he connects, you know, and what, you know, you said something at Rush Limbaugh a moment ago,

Michael, that made me think about this. When we put Russia on the air, he couldn't get on the air anywhere in the country.

We weren't one of the first stations in the country to put him on in a big city back in 88.

It's because he said what people were thinking and feeling and he connected with people.

Donald Trump, and I talked to him yesterday morning at length about a number of things including Texas racist.

He says clearly and succinctly like EVs don't go far, you know, it's a way easy way to sum that up. But he says what people are thinking and what they're feeling and they believe in him. He's authentic. You may not like everything he says every moment or agree. Nobody agrees with each

other every moment. But people know that he's authentic, he's real and he cares about this country,

he cares about our military, cares about our military, cares about law

enforcement, he cares about lower taxes, he cares about a secure border and he

cares about people. They know that and that's why he's up 80 to 9 in Texas right now.
