Summary

Dan is what Hollywood used to call a multi-hyphenate. He’s an actor (with an Emmy to prove it), producer, director, and writer, and successful in each arena. As Lisa Kudrow’s longtime partner he produced her forward-thinking web series Web Therapy as well as the savvy sitcom The Comeback. Most recently he worked on the hilarious comedy series Hacks and Mid-Century Modern. He shares some of his hard-earned wisdom with Leonard and Jessie.

1:02.1	Do you genuinely, if someone says, what do you do in the industry, do you just say yes?
1:07.7	Yeah, you know what? That's such a quicker answer.
1:11.6	That is right.
1:12.6	Than what I normally do, which your eyes glaze over.
1:16.6	And it's like, well, I'm also a writer, but you know, whatever pays the rent at this particular moment.
1:22.6	But yes, it is complex. I say I'm a multi-hyphenate. I wear a lot of hats. But I always say I'm an actor first because that is how I started. And I started writing as a means to act. And then the writing took its own sort of turn. I made a movie in 2001 called All Over the Guy, which I starred in, but I also wrote.
1:45.8	And that sort of launched sort of these parallel tracks for me, which was writing and acting.
1:53.0	And I produced that movie.
1:54.3	So that got me sort of producing.
