It's The Treatment. I'm Elvis Mitchell. One of the most enjoyable comedies of this year, I think, is the film The English Teacher.

It's authors, the writers of the screenplay, Dan and Stacey Charter is sitting across from me.

Stacey happens to be one of my oldest friends in Los Angeles.

I realized I knew you before this show.

That's crazy.

We do go way back.

We're a little bit too far back.

And Dan, I guess I know you for a little while, too.

A little while, yeah. A little while.

I know you guys through writing comics and doing other things.

And let's talk about, first of all, for the audience, tell them what the English teacher's about.

The English teacher, as Stacy will tell you.

Just put it on me.

It is a comedy starring the amazing Julianne Moore as a high school English teacher who is incredibly

invested in the well-being of her students, as many a passionate high school English teacher

is and is distraught when her star pupil, a young playwright named

Jason Sherwood, who's played by Michael Angerano, returns from the big city, New York, a terrible

failures.

They're living in a small town in Kingston, Pennsylvania.

And she decides basically to save his career and redeem her own by putting on his play at the high school.

And it's a little bit of a comedy of errors because he's written an angsty New York play, and it's rather inappropriate for high school.
