Director of Content and Resources, and it's my

pleasure to introduce to you today a message that John gave recently at

a minute the outpost gathering and it's about the popular but damaging assumptions that we so

often make about the Christian life and about how God operates. So here's John.

When I was asking Jesus about what tonight was about, he wanted me to address assumptions

that we're making about how God operates, what he's doing,

assumptions about life and about the Christian life

and that sort of thing that are frankly pretty popular,

pretty easy, you know, familiar assumptions, easy to embrace that actually do a lot of damage to your life and your heart and your life with God, do a lot of damage to your faith and your

confidence, confidence,

so like the disciples who were sitting in the upper room going,

what?

Really?

I don't get this, because they had one set of assumptions and God was operating

from a different set altogether. We're going to try and chase some of that clarity, freedom, life, the offer being that the more that you can identify assumptions that you're making about life or people or God.

Man, it's a huge relief for God to kind of put his finger on something and you go,

wow, I didn't even realize I was assuming that.
