I'm Kevin Allyson, and every Thursday we release these special episodes where we look back at content from our earlier years.

Sometimes single stories, sometimes whole episodes, keep in mind that years ago people might have awarded things differently than they would today.

As always, the title of the whole series, Risk, is itself a content warning.

It's been a hell of a year, a hell yeah, kind of year, my fine feathered and forefenders.

You're in the hands of a host who lives up to the title of this episode, Damaged Goods.

Lots of random stories from the past year recorded in random places on today's show and they all feature a character who has...

...whether to Storm or two, and maybe not come back all in one piece.

I myself am in a few more pieces right now than when I first started this hosting segment.

Our first story comes to us from Colorado. Out there in Denver, there is a show called The Narrators.

And this story that we're starting with is by the actor Kent Shelton.

Kent also manages the Gothic Theater in the Inglewood area out there.

And here he is with a story we call Cat Daddy.

Over the years I've had a lot of pets I've had about, I don't know, eight cats and five dogs.

And I'm proud to say I only ever lost one of them. I lost one cat.

And to be fair it was a cat I did not like.

I was living on the fifth floor of an apartment building in Chelsea in New York.

And I was living there with a woman who I loved and who hated me.
