Appreciate all the messages and thoughts and prayers for him and his family. we're going to talk about the MAPS Summer League team.

We got to hear from John Pulakitas, Toby LaWall, and the Mavs coach, Joe Boylan. And so we'll talk about the Mab's culture. I think that Joe Boland said a couple things that are really interesting about the Mavs culture. I also have a couple things about Toby LaWall that I think are interesting. And let's get right into it because the music stopped for no reason. Sergei DeLorea and Morae Janssen Jr. are very important players for the Dallas Mavericks this season. They were the Mavs two first round bics. They're both 20 years old. They're both young. They're both on the Cooper flag timeline. They both represent two sides of the court. The map that matter a lot, offensive defense to the Mavericks.

And we haven't really gotten a lot of like really good firsthand, like firsthand players or people or people around them like talking about these guys.

And in Summer League, you get some of the rare things where you get non-media trained players that haven't been on the biggest stage all the time talking about some of these guys. And John Policatis gave us two very good looks at both of these two guys in Mores Johnson, Jr. and Sergio de Leraa. And I'd like to listen to both of them with you. So let's listen to this first one. This is about Moritz Johnson Jr. He's basically just asked like, how has Morris Johnson

Jr. been in camp? The Mazzar done two days of Summer League camp so far, and he's gotten to see exactly what he does, and he just gives us a really good breakdown of Moriz Johnson-Jer's game. about the maris I just I mean he's just a great kid I mean obviously national

champion he's a winner.

You could tell him the way he plays on the court, the way he crashes the glass, the way he defends, the way he guards, the way he holds guys accountable.

Obviously, he's got a little bit of an upper edge on us, knowing coach made, knowing how he ticks and knowing his drills and whatnot but um marez is a great

kid he worked very hard and i'm excited to to get some screens from him and summer leaves

he's gonna say is his motor is high as they say no doubt it is um he's a he's a brick wall out there

he's a not everyone's been coined in the term junkyard dog, but that's, you know, that's exactly

what he is.

And so, I mean, I'm just, I know I keep saying it.

I'm broken record, but I'm just eager to get out there and play.

It's fascinating because earlier, Coach Joe Boylan was asked about what this team wants

to look like, what they want this team to be.

And he said, a very good defensive team anchored by Mores. He is going to anchor this defense. And I think he's definitely going to play center on this team. I think there's no doubt seeing the guys that are talking to the media, seeing the guys that are playing on the court, things like that. I think Mores is going to play center for this team. I think he's going to be a defensive anchor. We're going to see the full impact of Mores Johnson Jr.

As a winner defender, the way that Pulikides was talking about, the way that he gets after it, his motor, like no doubt. When he said he got a high motor, yes, no doubt, absolutely. Morris Johnson Jr. is going to become a fan favorite so quickly among Mabbs fans. He's the guy that just always going to give the extra effort, always going to give an advantage to his team in some way.

He's going to give it to you in some way. He's going to maybe score 20 points in the post in a game. Sometimes he'll get out and score three dunks in transition. Sometimes he's going to get three steals. Sometimes he's going to get four blocks. You know, like he won't always do the same thing every single game, but it'll give you something.

And talking about him anchoring the defense, I think it's huge for this team. And I think that it's a, it's a massive thing. And it helps define the culture that we'll talk about in a little bit. But just the idea of talking about Morris Johnson Jr., what he brings, what he is to this team, I thought was really cool.

I thought that was a good breakdown of him.
