Book of Philippians.

But I want to give you a little bit of background

on this right before we get into Philippians.

So let's turn over to Acts Chapter 16,

and this is the Acts account of when Paul went to Philippians.

And I've written down 20 things

from the Book of Philippians that kind of reveal Paul's secrets about why he was so happy.

You know, let me first of all say some of you may think, well, I've never thought of Paul as being a real happy person.

Paul talked about he travailed in birth.

There was times that he got harsh with people and rebuked them.

There was times that he talked about, all that he had suffered

for the Lord. And yet think about this. In the Book of Philippians, there are 16 times that the word

joy and rejoice are used 16 times in four chapters and he wrote it

from prison. In the book of Philippians or actually it's while he was in Philippi but it's right here in

Acts chapter 16 you'll find that Paul and Silas were beaten,

scourged, put in the stocks and in prison at midnight they were worshiping the Lord.

And you know there are some people who will say, oh well I've heard about the power of praise and so when they get into a bind they will praise God

through gritted teeth kind of like spiritual warfare.
